Hi !

I just got the car back from my dealer this week (friday, repainting the rear bumper) and went for a 600 km trip to visit some friends. On our way across Denmark a big stone (potato like) hit the car...

So now I have a small dent, and a big scratch on my roof!! What are the odds?? Just had the rear bumper repaintet after a scratch, and now this :'( :'(

What should I do ?

I know the best thing is to repaint the hole roof, but that will be expensive I guess.. Do you guys think it's possible to get a "Car-Dent guy" to fix the dent, and then fill in the scratch with my paint stick? (I know the results are not the same as a repaint)...

Why couldn't the stone have hit the windshield ?! That would have been a hole lot easier...

WOW thats a HUGE scratch! Like a potato size paint missing! I hate not having a car not looking good... I would get insurance to fix it.

Get a nice black vinyl roof, with landau/opera lights.

Should be no problem.

Ask at your dealers, as in the UK most BMW dealers have a local chip/dent/paint touch up person & they should be able to do that no problem.

I had a dent/chip on the front of my bonnet that appeared after a stone flew up (not quite as large as a potato) & they removed the dent perfectly & the touch up is 80% better so as not to be obvious without looking hard. Only a full panel respray would give 100% results, but then if it's a large area such as a bonnet or roof, matching the paint with other panels to 100% is difficult.
