Does anyone else do this? I just got this idea recently to add to the radar detector protection, which provides limited to no protection when you're alone or ahead of everyone on the highway and a cop is hiding behind some structure, like a bridge or a turnaround access. If you have the benefit of binoculars, you can maybe spot him ahead of time before he shoots you with laser or radar. This is a dangerous task and should not be attempted even in a light traffic situation with cars near you, but if you're out all alone, and you're a competent driver, looking into a binocular for 2-3 seconds can be done safely. I've only heard of one other guy doing this. I also tried holding a photocamera on the dashboard, zoomed in, but I'm not getting a clear picture I guess sinc the car is moving and shaking.

***this is for fictional purposes only and for theoretical discussion and entertainment. noone is advised or urged to look through binoculars while driving***

Well first .. for your examples of them hiding behind a bridge or turn around... this means they are not visible until you are parallel with them or past them.. so I don't see how binoculars would work unless you have those special x-ray versions.

That said ... this sounds like a horrible idea. Get glasses or lasik if you're having trouble making out objects that might be a police car or police bike down road (even if it's up to 2 miles away or so).

I use my X-ray specs I got from a comic book years ago. That way if the cop is a woman I can see her bra and panties

I prefer the periscope method out the sunroof... if done correctly you can see over bridges so those hiding behind them can be spotted... Just be mindful of lowering it back down before passing under said bridge!!!

THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!!!!! Just picked me up a set of the perfect binoculars for looking through the sunroof.
