I called my dealer regarding satellite radio added. He said that secondary to the problems with the Sirius/XM merger they were having problems with stock. They can only get me a radio by September......

Has anybody heard anything like this?

See my thread in the E60 forum at Bimmerpost. BMWNA wasn't a lot of help, and neither was Sirius. Some dealers have them in stock, some don't. I was told by one dealer (who didn't have them in stock) that they are waiting for BMW to update the hardware to be more compatible with the new tech specs for the merger. All the dealers with them in stock say they haven't heard this. Who knows. I trust my dealer/salesman. He seems like a straight shooter.

Yes, usually when the dealer wants to keep the price nice and high! I would call another dealer to confirm this though!

Our cars that have the Sirius satellite tuner are not able to add the best of XM. If BMW plans on adding more memory capacity into the Sirius tuner in the future it would be worth waiting a bit. This is pure speculation on my part, I have no idea if BMW plans on upgrading the Tuner or not, but if they do then I want to upgrade to the V2. I am starting to get board of the Sirius stations.
