Hey guys,

Well the wait is finally over and my new M172 wheels arrived on my door step yesterday. I bought them from Quad_M (Tony) and even though they were shipped half way across the world i still saved a bomb on what i could get them for here in Australia. They arrived in perfect condition and i would recommend Tony to any one for OEM wheels at great prices.

To my wifes dismay i took over part of the kitchen bench and put three coats of sealant on them last night which was not easy given the amount of crevices in them,.....i think i may have created a rod for my own back as cleaning these babies will be a bitch.....owe well life wasn't meant to be easy and hopefully the sealant will make it slightly easier. What a team....the wife cooking down one end of the kitchen bench and me sealing my wheels down the other, lucky we have a big bench or dinner could have been a disaster.

I am taking them to the tyre shop today if i get time or tomorrow to get some rubber put on them, can't wait and of coarse i will post pics once they are on.

Well done Maty, forget about cleaning and get some Axxis brake pads ! I had 172s on my last 550 and they were a bitch to keep clean, put the Axxis pads on the new car and they are brilliant , easily 10% of the original dust with no loss of performance !!

Beautiful wheels. Of course I am a little biased as these came on my 550. One thing for sure, they are a pain to clean. Guy at dealer said to get some spray on brake dust cleaner and use a pressure washer????

Hey Westcoast, thanks for the tip however the dealer replaced all the pads and front rotors under warraty not so long ago however when they need replacing i will definately go with the dustless option. Axxis are actually a brand of an Australian company, we certainly live in a golbal society dont we. Who would have thought i could buy wheels from a BMW dealer in the USA (which orignally came from Germany) and still save myself a bucket load on what i can buy them here for, someone is making alot of money!
