My Ride: 2008 Alpine White 550i Sport, Cream Beige Interior, 6-Sp Manual - retired 9/2011

Just dropped off my '08 550i today to have some repairs done, and I won't see it again...dealer will pick up when done, and then it's all over with! My 3 year lease went quickly...aside from a bad throttle wiring harness (twice) and bad battery, I didn't have any other issues and can't complain, aside from the 3 dealerships it's been to!

26.3K miles and still as shiny as the day I got her...not a single door ding. I was worried about my rear tires not passing inspection, but I stopped by dealership today on way to autobody place, and they checked out...so $450 saved! I will need it for my collision deductible!

Also, since the car is gone, just wanted to wish everyone well here (who is still here from the "older" days). I had some great times on here and "met" a lot of cool people and learned a lot, and hopefully contributed some good info here and there in the process.

Take care all....hope to be back one day!!!

Don't be a stranger! What did you go with to replace the 550?

I felt the same way turning in my '08 550. Literally went to the dealer three times for oil changes and to repair some curb rash, great car. Another forum member bought it CPO so it's still in the "family"...

Hey, thanks...I rashed one rim, but it was fixed pretty nicely by one of those mobile trucks. The car was real cherry, but it had to go. It would be a real nice pick up for anyone wanting a bare bones, 6-sp Sport.

I got a 2011 Silverado, believe it or not, back in January...has 600 miles on it today! Had I kept the bimmer, I'd have only driven truck in winter and for this and that....gonna make it my daily driver now. Plus I won't mind saving a car payment, a big one.

I never quite got to 4000 posts...so if you guys keep replying with questions & comments, maybe I'll get there! Later, all...

Oh...my last pic from today.

You'll be back! But enjoy the Silverado until then... And if you see Rudy around town, use that truck to force him off the road and tell to get a life!

I haven't been around long enough to get to know you, but from your post count it appears you were a valuable asset to this community. I'm sure you will be missed. Hope you're back in a BMW soon.
