Make sure the body shop digs into this more... hopefully the frame is okay.

Sorry about your loss. Drivers in Chicago are very awkward. I try to avoid the city at all costs.

Sorry about the loss, but glad everyone's OK. Did you bang her or did she bang you?

Silver lining: maybe you can talk your insurance into replacing the front end with an M-tech kit. Good luck.

We banged each other. I think it was her blind spot as she was trying to come out from the alley, cross through lanes of traffic. For me, the light had just turned green and I was heading at 15 mph to take a left turn and never saw her coming.

In the end I got a new bumper, headlight and all the goodies, even some nice new oem gloss grills that I love. lol..so dont stress, my body shop took all of about 7working days tops, my geico rep came right away when the car was towed there and it looked great! It was stressful, but if you find a reputable shop it should all be done quickly, and it will look good as new. good luck!

Because it was the fender/front suspension area. That area is very solid. Had the hit occurred in the center the damaged would have been much worse.

This will still be an expensive repair.
