Unless I'm misunderstanding your post, the handbrake didn't clean anything that is visible to you without taking things apart. Your brake discs will get "cleaned" any time you drive around and use the brake pedal. Driving around with the handbrake on will clean the e-brake drum but you can't see it...
But the best part they are shinny now! thanks for the 'clarifications'
