My Ride: 2011, X6 Hybrid . Alpine White , every option. 20" Conti' NON runflats,OEM trunk spoiler , LUX V3 AE's , HP Thunder Fogs , custom front bumper reflector delete........
An E60 in T/S is one of the classiest BMW's on the road, "Classic", understated and very subtle. 166's will dress up your car beautifully ! Less is more , restraint in modding is a virtue, too much cheap lipstick just makes a car look like your're trying too hard ............... As always, IMHO !

Thanks guys, thats all I needed to hear was a couple of thoughts, and so far its a clear NO, NO, and Hell NO!!!
Please forgive me as I had a few beers at the park today I have been desperately trying to find some wheels that I really like. I dont really like wheels with a lot of mesh/web design or too many spokes as I think they look too busy, I like a simple sporty look AND I am also having a hard time with this silver color. This is my first silver car and usually wheels should offset the color of the body.
I plead temporary insanity...
I guess Ill just order up the 166's as they seem to have the cleanest look so far.

well I come from SoCal where stock e60 m5s are not head turners at all. Funny thing is my 525i get lots of looks by m5 owners. I suggest you rethink before you pull the trigger and buy some wheels. I had the 166s at one time, but I didn't get the same attention until I got 20s. Good luck.
Heres an example:

I suggest spinners on your wheels. Why go half way?

Who cares what other people think , and what makes heads turn ? It's a personal thing about what the owner feels ............ A debadged M5 likely qualifies as one the coolest car's on the road.......... vs a 6 cylinder badged with M logos and and all the M body work .............. it's like stuffing a sock down your pants! ........at some point someone is going want you to perform .........................

On the issue of performance, sure a BMW can perform and handle, but if I really wanted a performance car, get a Corvette or Skyline GT-R
Btw, my car is not doesn't have M badges on it or //M wheels
