Running smooth

Just had oil change at dealer after 5k miles or 6 months. Was offered a coolant flush and differential oil change at some discount to get all caught up with maintenance. So sure, why not, didn't think much of an impact. I'd read at the forums diff. oil change not needed until higher milage 60k+? Dealer/mfg rec every 3 years so, alright why not?

After a couple of days of driving, I could really tell the difference in how smooth car's running. Car's at 43K miles. I could also feel accelerattion is more brisk, like a .03 to .05 faster in 0-60!! Pricy service, but paid off and really pleased with how it's running.

You can feel three tenths of a second difference?

Wolrab Oct 12, 2012 12:03 PM

Isn't that 3 hundredths?

onetime Oct 12, 2012 12:08 PM

Correct, my bad. Three one hundredths to five one hundredths of a sec. Pretty amazing butt dyno.

Wolrab is right. I meant to say .3 to .5 secs. Point is, It is noticably faster! Acceleration was sluggish, it is now brisk. If I stated a full second faster, that would raise more skeptics.

Looking for veterans and forum DIY'ers who can validate performance can be improved by replacing diff oil. Can it make that much of a difference?

Never heard of changing diff fluid as being a performance enhancement.

Buzz off if you got nothing to add.

Lol, I'm not trying to insult you, I'm merely stating that I've never heard or read that changing diff fluid can make your car faster. You made a statement which i find incredulous. No need to get angry.
