Has anybody had problems with runflats loosing air.
Yesterday my E60 informed me that I had a flat tyre. On checking the tire pressures one rear tyre had 16pdi and the other had no air at all. Took the car to the nearest BMW dealer who informed me that tyres were ok and had no nails etc. This is the second time that this has happed. Also informed that the dealer did not have new tyres and that it would take 3 days 20 get them (225/50 r17) Well p... off |

How often do you check your air pressure? 0 psi???? Where do you park? are you sure someone isnt playing a prank on you?

[/quote] WAIT WHAT?!?!?! :wow: after 10,000 km??? DUDE... I check twice a month reguardless of miles... and if I know I'm going to drive a long distance I'll check again just to make sure. And even after two weeks of driving it loses 1-2-3 lbs of air... Granted maybe they can be better and not lose that much but its air... it'll leak. Look at a balloon... Tires are quite an important part of the car... all steering, braking, accelerating are all done through the tires I am still amazed how many people dont pay more attention to them. |
I had the same problem 2 weeks ago. Tire would lose air after just 40 miles and went to get it checked 3 times and realized its always the front right tire which was losing air at an incredible rate. 3 times they say tire was submerged in water and checked thoroughly but nothing could b found. Finally 4th time they say I have a bubble hidden somewhere which could not be fixed. Ended changing to winter tires. I used dunlop DSST runflats
and now use bridgestone blizzaks.... |
Yes, my Dunlops 245/40 18" lost about 1 kBar in 4 months.
I think thats quite a lot. My non RF winter Conties keeps the pressure. I will burn my Dunlops next spring and buy me a nice set of non RF's. Conties maybe... |
I check my tyre pressure every week if possible & a max of 2 week intervaI.
Incorrect pressures also affect the tyre wear. So why not just check them frequently? |
