I paid 170 all in for a replacement dunlop - they ordered one and had it within two hours.

Quickfit were a joke they quoted silly money and couldn't get one (same story at BMW)

OK if the run flat is designed to hold its own whilst punctured who's to say you can't drive on it for the life of the tread? You guys with punctures have already stated you could tell no difference to the way the car handles - so why not? My tyres are fairly low treadwise so its tempting. I mean its not going to blow out is it?

Had a puncture 1 week after I got my car last year. The tyre (Dunlop) was very very noisy when flat, all pedestrians were looking at my car for the wrong reason Anyway, tyre was repaired at BMW. There seems to be conflicting stories about whether runflats can be repaired or not. I guess it depends on where the puncture occurs. Mine was in the middle of the tyre and not on the sidewalls.

Run Flats are just as repairable as non run flats. Just make sure you go to a fitter that has the correct training and equipment. In UK try HiQ as they are owned by Goodyear/Dunlop. My local HiQ branch repairs all the local Motorway police cars which run on Goodyear F1 Run Flats as opposed to standard Eagle NCT5 run flats - the F1's give more grip but are even harder than the Eagle NCT5's.

Had a puncture last week.
The car RFT system warned me, i checked and there it was a nail.

Changed today the OEM Run flats 245/45 R 17 with 43.000 kms. The tires in the back looked like Shumacher's Ferrari tires .....

The new ones are the same tire but NON Runflat:
BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE 050. Ride is fine but a little vibration. Must have it checked quickly.

Tried to get the GOODYEAR's F1 GSD3 ( 315 EUR ) but not available in that size in Portugal. The MICHELIN PS2 ( 320 EUR) weren't available too and they didn't have an arrival date.

Let's see if they worth the 1.100 EUR that i paid .......

What a timley topic! Picked up a nail just this morning. FTM monitor instatntly alerted me. Drove it to a service station, they pulled the nail and plugged the tire no problem. I reset the FTM and I'm ready to go.

I'm confused though and somebody please confirm. Runflats can be plugged correct? My puncture was in the middle of the tire.. no sidewall issues.

buzzeroo, I believe I read somewhere, maybe in TFM, that they are not to be plugged. I always patch from the inside anyway. Haven't used plugs in years and years and years . . .

Yikos. The guy at the gas station plugged it. Am I screwed?

Buzzeroo:

Was it convenience that you took it to a gas station instead of the dealer? Just curious. My flat was fixed for free, this, also after driving for two weeks with the warning light on.
