Hey guys got my car now for 3500 miles and have had 2 flat tires... my first question is this... if you get a flat tire on a runflat how can you tell that you got one besides the indication on the iDrive? I changed my last tire so Im thinking of going to non-run flats because this is getting ridiculous. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Never had a flat RF tyre (nor any tyre), but of what I read you should
feel a change in the steering wheel if it is a front tyre.
If it is a rear tyre the rear end of the car should feel "loose"

With your eye it's almost impossible to see.

What was your impression when it happened?

My RF's seem to leak a bit (about 0,5 in a month), and I notice when pressure
goes down by that the steering seems heavier and the car drives smoother if the city.

The drive felt the same... I just slowed down to 50 mph. So when my flat tire light goes on it can just mean that I lost some pressure in my tire and that I dont have a flat? The indication also came on when I was on a newly paved road so I dont know how in the world I could have gotten a flat there.

Visually inspect your tire for any nails, etc.

Go to a tire shop and have them check it. They'll dismount the tire and put it in water. If bubbles come up then you know there's an air leak.

Realize that you won't get the msg until you reach a certain threshold in the difference between how fast one wheel is spinning compared to the others. I once hit a pothole and had a slow leak. I didn't get the msg until the next day.

Check your runflats with a tire gauge. If all are OK, no problem. If one is low, problem.

Does anyone know whether or not we can order new cars without the option of RFT??? Would there be any additional costs involved?

No chance. BMW now even have changed the tyre pressure labels on the cars to say "BMW recommends RSC"

I checked my tire pressure and 3 of my tires were 38-39 psi's and one had dropped to 30 you think that's why I'm getting a flat tire reading?
