Thanks. So I'm 99% sure that I will change my tires without any problems. But today I've found on hartge.de website "All HARTGE wheel sets can be equipped with Tyre Pressure Control (TPC) and sets of lockable wheel bolts." So what is this TPC?

cheers
TPC is another (and more accurate) name for Tyre Pressure Monitor. Check out this link for the official BMW guide.

Tyres seem to be a hot topic, I just changed my 18" standard sport wheels for 19" 172 245 front and 275 rear with conti contact 2 and they are crap tyres, the local tyre dealer tried twice to balance and could not, they have 7mm tread so should be fine but may be damaged, the dealer is doing it tomorrow, or was but I have bought Michellin Pilot sport 2 for the front as these seem to be rated by everyone, I really dont like the whole block line tread design on the conti's as this seems a step backwards for wet design. I thought the standard goodyear runflats were pretty good and the dealer actually said the M Sport handles much better on the bumps than non m sport as the suspension was revised for RFT tyres, I actually dont think they are too bad and 100% better than the contis, dont look as good as the 19" though so hopefully the michellins will sort it out.

Yes, always a dilemma on wheels/tyres. Hope it works out with the Michelins. I'd like to hear what you think of them on the 19" rims. I was thinking of going to 19" but heard it was a pretty firm ride.

Cheers

Hey Ed, actually when the dealer fit them they noticed the manufacture date was 2002! They have never been used and I bought them new on Ebay for 30% less than retail so a warning, as they are 6 years old I had the dealer change them back and they are balanced and actually not bad now, I have them running at 33PSI and the ride is slightly better than the 18" RFT so overall I would say go for it as what you lose in profile you gain in sidewall flex, I reckon the Michellins, when I get a proper pair next time would be even better, still not convinced by the conti design but they seem alright for now, the other tyres are being sent to the seller for a refund. Only thing is you cannot find spares anywhere so it cost ?180 for the spare and jack kit, which is heavy but on balance the wheels and tyres are a lot lighter than RFT so it balances out and they look great.
