Hello again,
this might be a stupid question but with "run flat" tyres how do you know if you have a puncture???
I am sure there is a simple explanation,
cheers

You should see a slight deflation of the tyre. But if it's pitch black, it's back to asking the iDrive computer...

If it is fully out of air you might see it, you would certainly feel it.

If it is 15 psi down you will probably only know when the i-drive tells you.

Most manufacturers do not recommend repairs.

The reason being that the structure of the tyre makes it almost impossible to determine how long it has been driven whilst deflated and subsequent damage to the caracass. In normal tyres the sidewall disintegrates quickly and the damage is obvious.

Having said that many small tyre shops will repair a runflat if the puncture is not close to the sidewall.

Any subsequent risk (small though that may be) lies with you

Agree, as you never can be sure about a repair it's better not risking your life - buy a new tyre!
