I wonder if it is illegal in holland too?? For normal tires it isn't.. Are normal tire repairs illegal too in germany???

btw. are you a real german ice or are you an american living there???
On normal tires it's allowed.
But on "highspeed" tires it isn't.

I am an American born in the wrong country.

I feel American, have a green card, love everything there and don't like anything here, but I am stuck here for some family reasons.

I tell you what, that's the one thing I miss most when I'm in the States.

Thanks for all the posts ,
I had it repaired today and was delighted not to have to fork out for a new tyre.
By the way, the RPA warning is largely unecessary - since the flat Dunlop DSST make such a racket at 30 mph you wouls have to be deaf not to notice it!

Hi Iceman , I can't see the danger in repairing a run flat - in the unlikely event the repair subsequently fails then no problem whatsoever - just drive on ?

I think on the side of the wheels it says RFT, but I'm not sure. It should also be on the option list and if you know how they look you can see it, since they come out a little more on the side...

My sidewalls on the tire say DSST (wich is the term for the runflat tire) and there also is a written warning on the sidewalls of the tires that they are only allowed on cars with RPA.

Same here on my DSST Dunlops. The DSST is labeled in very large letters. The warning is a block of much smaller print.

Stu,

You experience of a flat on the run-flat Dunlop DSST was just like mine. The amount of noise it made was unbelieveable. I originally heard a faint clicking noise from the rear driver side (where the flat was). Then I realised pedestrians were looking around at my car as I drove post. On opening the window I then realised the racket that was being caused. I thought it was a major tyre fault of something. So embarrassing. :'(

At least you got your tyre repaired like mine.
