Have to admit, Rudy?s update makes me look forward even more to my two 5er deliveries in the coming weeks.

M?nchen, here I come.

I think we all expect a similar update from you when you return Jonathan! Take a small notebook with you on your drives...

Well considering that Ted is clearly not a hero of mine, I'll give you a big old NO!

Not sure if the resemblance is there or not...

Rudy, great initial post and all the updates/feedback several months ago. (And, thanks to Richard in NC for pointing out yesterday the existence of this thread!! ) These predated my visits to this board, and as I anxiously await arrival of my 550i (it's at the port awaiting departure), I spent an hour reading and digesting all I have to look forward to.

I noticed this one incidental post about Ted Bundy, vis a vis your avatar, and couldn't help commenting: Hard to believe, but I had personal contact with Bundy for about an hour on a Sunday evening the day after the two girls disappeared at Lake Sammamish State Park (Redmond, WA)... I was asst manager at Ben Bridge Jewelers while going to college, and he tried to pass a bad check for $1500. Monday night's Seattle Times had an artist's rendering of the guy seen with the girls... spooky.

You're welcome Jeff. I know you're going to enjoy your car as much as I did then and still do now...

Man, that Ted Bundy story is truly spooky! Glad you didn't end up as another one of his victims!!
Not much chance of that back then, I don't think my hair was long enough nor the right color (Ted liked long straight brown hair....)

Hell of a story Cal....Yikes!!!!!

I'm reviving this great thread for those thinking about SAT -- probably the best review I have seen..

Also, does anyone know if there ever was a software up-grade regarding the non-linear accelerator?

If I have one peeve with SAT that's it...Too much dead spot. As Rudy pointed out, he'll probably get used to it (as will I) but if there was an up-grade, I'd like to hear about it.

THX!!

No dead spot in mine, I love it and would order it a third time. I had a 528 loaner without it and it felt like a MB.

I only notice it in regular Drive mode (non-sport).

When in sport mode I love it too -- and would not hesitate owning it again. Extremely smooth and swift.

You and Rudy both have 550's which has a different transmission model than mine. There was a spec here somewhere covering that.
