RPM Drops then car shuts off

What could cause this (Title) to happen?

My Ride: 2006 BMW 550i

its happened to me in an older m3.....a bad maf sensor was the cause. also an air intake leak can do the same. also bad o2 sensors could do the same.

Thanks turboawd I will take a look at this things, I already cleaned the MAF sensor and checked for air leaks but I didn't check the O2 sensor so I'll see if that's the issue. Thanks

in my experience a bad o2 sensor will cause the car the die after the engine has started to warm up. not on a cold engine.
