After you set the pressure, FTM initializes and you need to drive for ten minutes after that. Although FTM monitors individual tires for loss of pressure, it does not report the pressure. I wish we all knew more of the mechanics. Lots of questions here about heat expansion, differences between front and rear, etc.

A month ago I got the "Flat Tire Message". I pulled over and checked the tire pressure, the old school way - with a tire pressue gauge. All the tires had the correct pressure. I went through the INITIALISING process. It took approximately 20 minutes to reset. I have checked the tires a couple of times since and everything is fine.

Mine did that. I did the same thing, just check the pressure manually (btw thanks DD for the tip on buying a pressure reader). Reset the computer and drove off. Problem fixed.

I had a flat tire three days ago. The flat tire monitoring system works great. As soon as it happened the warning came on. I didn't feel the flat at all. I pulled over in one block and heard the air whizzing out. The repair was done two days later for no charge at COSTCO and I am on the way again.
