double post
The 2008 CTS is 90% of BMW DNA. I drove one for a week as a rental in FL and came away impressed. Biggest drawbacks are no integrated bluetooth, no silky manual transmission, and the key fob is huge. Also, the residuals on the CTS aren't as good as BMW so that 15K advantage will shrink if you lease.
I sat in a new CTS at a recent car show. IMO it's still cheesy as hell inside. They just can't seen to lose that cheap looking American interior. Don't get me wrong it's not terrible inside, but the American car industry still cannot match the fit and finish of a BMW/Audi/Merc/Lexus/Infinit/Acura.

Put it up against the 550.
You v8 guys need to face it, the 550 has nothing on the 535i. with a $500 dollar SSTT mod i pulled with a 550i this weekend. I go dinan and I still come in about 5k under the price of the 550 and I am leaving the 550 with nothing but a view of my rear end.
Gas well we don't need to really go there.
