hey guys, I've just recently(Monday) dropped off my 545i for service. One of the issues was the rough idle many of us have been experiencing after a cold start. the service rep told me that its a complicated fix and would take 1 week minimum. Does this seem normal? he said he has to take apart everything including levers etc. He verified this with the mechanic and says parts have to be ordered and will take a long time.

Anyone had this done and could chime in on the timeframe they faced for this service

rough idle can be any thing from old spark plugs, dirty throttle housing, old engine suspension and many more.
I had this rough idle 4 months ago and fix it by changing spark plugs, engine oil and cleaning the throttle housing.
this only took 1 day to do.

Hey pinguhk, thanks. They said that according to the SIB on my engine they have to replace all the levers take apart the engine and that it should take about 1 week minimum.


SIB states: If the production date of the intermediate levers is between a certain range then they have to change the whole set all 16.

Anyone dealt with this?
