So i finally made that move from Detroit to the City of Angels last week...

i packed my car full of clothes, shoes and dreams and drove out lol

here are the final stats:
  • 2300+ miles driven
  • 35+ hours on the road
  • 18.9 average MPG (which is amazing for my V10 btw lol)
  • 1 full quart of oil burnt (the S85 naturally burns oil during operation)
  • 76.8 MPH average speed

the drive really wasn't that bad. i took the scenic route through Michigan, Illinois, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Nevada then Cali

spent nights in the following cities:
  • Omaha - yikes....what a crappy place, just when i thought i needed out of Detroit.....just one night here was one night too many lol (no offense)
  • Denver - loved this place...only had one night there but it was pretty cool. stayed in some old school plush luxury hotel dtwn Denver and hit up the Cherry Cricket or something like that for an awesome burger...supposedly the best in the city as i was told
  • Vegas after an exhausting 10 hour drive through four states (most of which was at 100mph...because normally its a 12+ hour drive)
  • Las Vegas - only my second time there....decided to spend two nights in Sin City....first night in a suite at Caesars Palace and the second night at the Aria Spa & Resort....great times were had.
  • Finally in SoCal now (for good) house hunting and trying to get acclimated.
Anyone know where a brotha can rent a home with a garage for a decent price? looks like i might end up in a loft dtwn LA or townhouse on the west side/near west for the first year until I'm ready to buy a home (i need to do more SoCal real estate research). if thats the case, who wants to let me use/rent their garage space for projects? my car needs some tlc but i can't get to it on the streets of LA lol

anyway...here are some pics:

Welcome to LA & SoCal bro!! I really liked the pics that documented your trip. You will love the weather and lifestyle out here. Downtown is cool to live in, but I suggest to get a place as close to the beach as possible. Good luck and take care.

Welcome to SoCal Bro, good thing everything went well on the trip. As for where to live? Opinions on that will vary WIDELY Typically, like anywhere else in the world, the closer you get to water the smaller and more expensive the places get. Finding a place near the water that's a decent size and has a garage will be tricky.

Dang, hardcore Chris, no tape in the front for the long drive!

In any case, welcome to Socal! Guess we'll be seeing you around!
