I got a right parking light malfunction warning. When I checked it out, I found both headlight rings were out. Is that normal? And is that a job that a DIYer can handle? The onwer's manual said to contact the dealership, but I am allergic to dealership prices. Also what are LCIs? (I own a 2004 525i)

Can't help with the "headlight rings" - better known as "angel eyes" - but LCI (life-cycle impulse) was a freshening of the car's trim and other bits beginning with 2008 models, so your's is not LCI.

Might be time to update your AE's with brighter LED types our forum vendors sell... or buy a replacement bulb from the dealer. Search for AE (Angel Eye) install on the forum - it's a job for small hands but not too difficult to do,

Just replaced mine (left parking lamp) myself with the help from my son's little hand. Light bulb causes about $65.00 at the dealer.
Open the hook and you will see a black cover about 3" in diameter behind the light housing. Twist to open it. Twist and remove the high beam lamp on the top, twist and remove the parking lamp (you need someone with small hand to do this unless you have the tool). Reverse the above steps to complete the job.

Are you guys saying the parking lamp is where the Ange Eye is?

My 2004 525i shows the same error message. I have not looked at which bulbs yet. I did install replacement Angel Eye bulbs 3 years ago. They cost me around $300 I think. Damn if both just failed after only 3 years! I will check in a few days as the car's battery failed this morning so I am to replace battery first before playing with bulbs.

Any suggestion of good quality AED lights that do not require extra cables/accessories?

Thanks.

Well, just checked my AngeliBright bulbs. The left one is working, but the right one is intermitently blinking. Not sure what is causing this.

I remember when I first install the AngeliBright bulbs, they would both blink a few times as I insert the key and turn but before starting the engine. Now, right one blinks even with engine running.

Thanks.
