Hello friends1
My second post in short time concerning light problem...
This time it is my right number plate light.
Got an error-message some time ago and figured it was just the bulb. Bought a new one and... nothing happend. Just to check I tolk the left one (that is working fine) and swapped it to the right side... no light either. So it is not the bulb, and not the bulb-holde... (or what the english term might be). so there is no power on the right side.
took it to the dealer for some other issue and also mentioned they could take a look at this problem to. They spent one hour and could not fix it... Don't know what they have done though.
Any idea where to start looking? Is the cables from the reight side joining the left side at some point? if so, do anyone know where they split so I know where to start looking for a broken cable?
Any advice will be highly appreciated!
Thanks and regards!

Probably need to have the dealer investigate the LKM (Light Control Module) and wiring.
Verify power at the socket. That rules out the lamp assembly itself. Then work backward.
Maybe one of the wires leading to that specific lamp have been pinched; take a really close look where the wires themselves are squeezed into the socket pins at the plate lamp itself - they are fastened 'mechanically' and if the wiring was squeezed too tightly it may have broken inside the insulation and thus not readily visible!
Also inspect for any corrosion in the socket assembly.

My light was a bit in and out before it went out for good. Seems like I might have the same problem!
Will check the wires as soon as possible.
Thanks again

Yes yes...
I found the problem with the missing license plate light...
As I have a E61 I should have posted this there (and I also will) but wanted to share this photo...
I removed the right speaker in the trunk and could reach part of the wiring there. Squeezed and oulled a little in this and had my wife watching the light. It came and went....
When I opened the wire harness this is what I could see... Fou wires straight off, and all the rest badlyy damaged and would be completely off in short time!
We are talking very poor design!!
Worst thing is that I had the local AD look at it... they spent one hour and found nothing. I spent 15 min. and located the problem. After one hour it was fixed..... damn it!!
