Hi everyone, just got my 07 530xi yesterday and still learning all the stuff on the car. When I start the car today, the system told me reverse light is malfunctioning, then have someone put it in reverse and i went to check out the light, both light is working properly. I cannot find the message of reverse light malfunctioning again, is there a problem? Also, i am wondering what is the proper way of turn off the car, press the start/stop button first, then take the key out or just press the key and shut the car off. Thanks for all the help.

i think ur reverse light is about to blow. it may sometimes turn on or off. to check for error msgs, press the voice control and scream out "SERVICE." then select control messages and u'll see it there.

Thanks for the reply. Will that bring me to the idrive service info page? I check there and it says no control message. Will orginal warranty cover the reverse light or its something i need to pay?

that means u have no error messages. It will go on and off sometimes. U'll need a new bulb. A new bulb is cheap to replace anyway. No need to go to dealers for that unless ur in there already for service. Or might as well add LED reverse lights. Where r u located? I can only install the LED reverse lights with the taillights out of the car unless u want the regular ones which is not as bright.
