Retrofits at the dealer: do they update the VIN option list in central

If you ask your authorized dealer to do one of the official retrofits (such as USB/iPod interface, Sport shifter etc.), do they send a request to the central database to update the option list for your VIN?
So next time the option list is updated when another dealer views it?

Probably not. But, they probably change the central coding data (forgetting the proper initials at the moment...used to be called ZCS) so the next time the computer is connected it knows what options are present automatically. No worries.

The local options data in the car (ZCS) is a piece of cake.
If they don't upload the changes to the central BMW database, that means nobody knows the options list until the car is OBD2 connected to a computer, right?
