Does anybody know if the LCI to the pre LCI a/c controls are a straight swap ?

Have a look at the pics to see what i mean, pic1 is the lci and pic2 the pre-lci

Thanks

actually there's 2 type of AC controls, the first pic is the AC with advanced features and the second pic is the normal AC, on pre-lci cars the normal AC was a standard fitment
like on my car with the advanced AC being a cost option, from 2007 with the introduction of the lci car the Advanced AC was fitted as standard on some models.

Ok, that's sounds promising. The thing is can you actually put in as a straight fit or it needs extra cabling and/or idrive programming ?

depends if the AC and heater system is different, if its just a case of switching the control panel then yes all that's needed is a trip to a service centre for new programming but
these cars are not straight forward and i would imagine that at least the heater system is different as well.

If you are just looking for the look of the aluminum ring around the control, I have seen an aftermarket company on-line that sells such rings that you should be able to put on your existing controls. If this is what you are looking for let me know and I'll see if I can find the info.

Hi,

If you are looking to plug the advanced AC controller into the normal AC controller it doesn't work, well on mine alway. I bought a second hand one on E-Bay for ?10 hoping it was a straight swap, but the wiring loom plugs at the back are different, one plugs goes in, but the other one as more pins on than the plug I had. Still worth ?10 to see if it was possible as it looks better than the standard controls

oh didnt mean it like that-just looks like the generation before the e60/e90-not sure why they would not have made that standard-I could be wrong just like in different years we got different things stadard like example comfort seats standard with sports package.

Some years sports package came with AS but not comfort seats

I dont know-Maybe the dials were standard-they are not bad-just look a little bit less updated

They are , grampa style and hate them. Hence why i want to change them.

As far as the rings go, they're afew on ebay but to be honest i don't like them. They look like chromed plastic and they're too bling for the subtle interior of the bmw
