Restreint system faulty!
 
hi guys .. i see there are few threads about this problem but mine is a little bit diferent! .. i needed some power in the cabin so i thought to myself "why get from the trunk when i can get from the passenger seat" .. so i went on and tryed that .. did'nt go how i planned .. when i try to disconect a cable conector from underneath the seat bamm!!! the iDrive started screaming about restreint sys faulty .. now i tryed to connect it back .. reconect it .. started the engine few times .. light's still on .. any idea what i can do besides gooind to the BMW Stealership cuz' im not on warranty .. but i meen nothing is even broken or enything i just unpluged a cable and now i cant do nothnig about it .. ?

I don't think the fault will clear itself, you need to get a scan tool and clear it yourself. I've read (a while ago) that some scan tool cannot clear SRS codes. So you have to get one that does. I know INPA can clear definitely clear any codes, so if you have INPA just scan and clear. For my SRS errors i've been using BMWhat app since it was released and it works great.

then i suppose i have to look for an INPA connector or somthing .. but man .. so u go ahead a unplug a connector on your car you may have to pay your skin up :)))) .. damn .. i should have gone with the trunk power .. u see what 3 metters of cable and 10 extra minutes of work can cost you ... thank you for your reply though .. all the best

No, you are supposed to disconnect the battery first. If you had, you can disconnect any SRS related connector without getting the fault. But, you MUST reconnect the SRS connector BEFORE reconnecting the battery. Sorry to say, but this knowledge is pretty fundamental and not a BMW thing.

i just got back from the service .. they fixed it for me for 30 Euro ..
