Default resetting transmission adaptations

I installed new solenoid valves in the mechatronic, changed all seals, oil. Now it kicks into 1st gear from park, neutral and reverse kind of hard, I hear a hit and feel a jerk forward. In higher gears, shifts smoothly for the most part. If I reset transmission adaptations in INPA, is it necessary to go through that multi-step calibration of driving at various speeds in certain gears? I found a long list of complicated instructions, where you speed up, slow down, should have a long stretch of road. One famous youtube mechanic says it's not necessary to do that specific relearn calibration, that I can just reset it INPA and drive normally and car will relearn itself. I've read that others have had numerous problems after the tranny reset if they didn't do that specific driving calibration. I definitely want to reset it as otherwise he says I don't get the benefit of new solenoids, it's as if I didn't install them, but I can't really go through that long calibration, I don't have that kind of stretch of roadway with no traffic, where I can speed up, slow down, etc.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Reset adaptions in INPA then drive like your grandma would for 150-200 miles after that ride how you would ride. That means no spirited driving.

I had my valve body refurbed in 2014 I think, put all new gaskets, pan and fluid in, reset the adaptions and never had an issue.

Bro, THIS is what I'm talking about, see below. You're supposed to follow a certain multi-step reset procedure, there are warnings on various websites that it's better NOT to reset adaptations if you're not going to go through this procedure, but since a popular youtube mechanic says it can be done, and now you're saying you did it, I'm going to risk it. Otherwise, see below.

Lol. I have never heard of this. I have helped many with fixing there transmission on the forum and I tell them all the same thing. Drive like your grandma for 150-200 miles after you reset your values. None have reported an issue. But it's good to know that someone has done it. I can guarantee the dealership does not follows that procedure.

Sounds like you might not have enough oil in there. post your adaptions here, please.
