Are Activated Carbon filters worth the price? They are almost double the cost ofthe standard paper cabin microfilters.

My i-drive says another 11000 miles but I got mine changed 18 months ago and recently opened to check them. They appeared really dirty.
How often do folks change their cabin microfilters?

Well for me, I change every 6 months or so and I use ebay cheap $20 filter.
Since I change it very often that I feel normal in cabin filter would do fine.
