Hi Guys,
Any summer tire suggestions would be appreciated - (Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST).
My rear tires are worn and due for replacement(surprise surprise), fronts appear to be in good condition.
Considering that I'm not happy with the OEM Dunlops, do I have to replace all four tires(245/40R18 and 275/35R18) if I make the jump to another tire or can I get away with changing just only the rear tires? Also, what tires should I consider??

Thanks

Well the good thing about driving a rear wheel drive is you can replace both fronts and rears at different times, however I wouldnt mix and match brands, thats tacky!

So if you just replace the rears stick with the Dunlops. If you decide to switch them all out, Ive always been a fan of Continental or Falken Tires. You should check out www.discounttiredirect.com and check some prices.

Good Luck.

I replaced the Dunlops on my '05 sport package 530, with Goodyear F1 Supercar, was very pleased. Pilot Sport 2's could be a consideration for non run flats IMHO

I had Goodyear's before on other cars, but i wasnt diggin' em. It felt like something wasn't right. Much harder or something...
Dunlop's feel ok, but I'm not sure I'm getting enough grip.

They handle well but are very noisy on the freeway at high speeds...perhaps it's the run-flats?

Based on my experience, I would steer clear of Dunlops of any kind.
I put AVS sports and MMX3 s on my M3 -- I was happy with both. The AVS sports are very sticky and had a pretty unique tread pattern.
I've got a little ways to go before I replace my tyres on my E60, but I would put both of these on my 'top list' to look at...

Let us know what you end up with.

I put Dunlop Direzza tires on my car and they have been great!! So perhaps if you wanted to stick with Dunlop they would be an option and also BTW, they are a steal where price is concerned!!

Absolutely the best addition I've made to my E60. It was like I traded the car in for a new car costing $20,000 more. Runflats absolutely suck.
