Hi...

So almost as expected, my beloved X5 4.6is was stolen the other day in Budapest, Hungary (So many X5?s have been stolen in Europe so I saw it coming i guess).

Well anyway, I have started to check around for the car that eventually will replace the X5 and I must say that Im having a hard time making my mind up, therefore this entry in the forum.

I am a performance guy and like to have some power under the hood more then I enjoy having a car that stands out too much (allthough an attractive car offcourse is nice)

So what do I do, which car(s) is/are recomended by you guys as a fine replacement for the X5 taking into account that I run a family of 5 (myself included)?

Is the 545 the answer....the 535d, or perhaps the 7-series?

Thanks for your time

Fu***ng Mafia

Go for the new 550i or 535d depending of what fuel your in to.
But wait for the September manufactured cars, this way you'll have a MY 2006!

Well I also kept my car in the garage........but of course net step is to secure the garage , making it stronger and an alarmsystem with 4 halogenlamps turning on and a 225db alarmisgnal : )........

But a question in relation to the quote:
Isnt it so that even if a car is equiped with gps/gsm tracking devices, these signals can be scrambled quite easily by pros (I guess "my thiefs" were pros) and even if it wouldnt be scrambled, the moment you take the car to an underground garage or container or similar, the signal would basically die.

Im planning for some quite heavy security system for the next car (im actually thinking of buying a new X5 since it was the best car Ive ever had), so which other systems can be used to prevent and track a theft?

New 530xi wagon would be a great option for a family of five, if they're available in your part of the world.
