Anyone have experiance with the repair manuals on ebay for our cars? Go to ebay and do a search for BMW TIS. Their you will find several people selling all the discs for all the manuals for our cars.

i just bought one from ebay. won't run on 64 bit platform. the manual itself is a total loser, but then again so are both my german car manuals. compared to the factory service manual for a japanese car, the TIS (for 545i) and the bentley (for A8) are very weak.
TIS manual goes like this: remove cylinder head, repair cylinder head, install in reverse order...WTF????
japanese manuals tell you EVERYTHING step by step, like how to rebuild the power steering pump, how to bench test sensors, good explanations of how systems work, etc.
i think its a european thing. the manuals for my japanese motorcycles are very thorough as well, but the one for my KTM is weak. i smoked a bearing in the KTM once, it said remove engine, disassemble engine, repair as req'd, reinstall engine. the details were very scarce. ducati manuals are vague as well.
just my 0.02

My impression on this thing(I bought one about a year and half ago) was not great but wasn't horrible. You still get a couple of pics where
you get an idea and a few descriptions. But you can't probably fix any big ones based on this TIS. At least they tell you the part numbers(I believe can't remember). Overall, it filled my curiousity on few things.

Needless to say,I never had to use them during my few years of ownership because the car was 100% reliable and fault free, but it was boring!
