REPAIR RELATED GOODWILL section, it says:
Up to and including 18 months beyond the New Vehicle Limited Warranty or up to 75, 000 miles, whichever occurs first, BMW NA will participate up to 100% of the total repair cost.
That means warranty can be as long as 5.5 years (or 75K miles) if the dealership is nice to you (because it's goodwill, not obligation).

good will is used here.. i dont know since when...
but its when something breaks in your car and your car is no longer under warranty.. so if for example your gearbox fails after 3year and you no longer have a warranty, the dealer will then file the case with BMW HQ (gemany probably, perhaps BMWNA for the US), and they will then decide weather they will pay for the part or not.. this also dependes on your history, such as how many BMW car you have/have bought... keep in mind that they focus on driveterain and mechanical/electrical engine componets... for example a gear box is supose to live for more than 3 year, so is the engine..
but if BMW decides to repair your car as a goodwill gesture, they will only pay for the part and you will pay for the labour,,, also they can also decide to only pay only half the money for the part...
