Use a piece of wood and tap a tip off with wood and a hammer. Tap behind the tip (the edge that faces the front of the vehicle). If you want to save the tips, wrap each tip in thin towel to protect from scratches, and lay a piece of large cardboard with newspaper on top for make a cushion for the tip to fall onto.

To install new tip, wrap wood in towel and tap on with wood and hammer. Wrap the installed tip in towel to protect it while tapping the second tip on.
