anyone got instructions for removing the gearlevel cover (to replace it) by cover I mean the bit you move/hold in your hand, on Auto the bit with the switch on it.

What I've heard is a nice hard pull at the lever to get it off (watch for you chin).

530E60NL, yes that used to be the way in the E46 not sure about the E60...could try it i suppose.

wondered if any members on here with the tech cdrom had a different answer otherwise its gonna be a hard pull (excuse the pun) :lol:

If you're talking about the gearshift knob, for the manual (and I believe the auto and SMG, but don't know for sure), you pull up HARD. As someone mentioned, you will hit yourself in the chin if you're not very careful.

Sorry guys, things have been busy around here. To add to that, the board is much busier as well so I've had to skip many threads in the interest of time...
