You can use force and the panel will just snap out. I can give more tips if needed.

I am in the middle of the cf trim project, and wanted to confirm that those wooden trim panels located on the doors can be removed without removing the whole door panels. Can you or anyone else advise? I do not want to remove the whole panels to avoid disconnecting battery and having possible problems with active steering initialization. Thank you in advance!

When I did it, I didn't unplug the battery. Just be extra careful I guess.

Don't need to disconnect battery.
Door removal is pretty simple once you know how. I think 2 people just makes it slightly easier. It's still simple and straight forward just by yourself.
Oh, and it is possible to remove, but you're going to end up breaking all the clips and won't be able to install it back in, lol.

I'd disconnect the battery unless you can reset the airbag light yourself.
The panel slipped off of my legs since I was solo and disconnected the airbag cable with my battery still connected. Luckily I could reset it with the bavarian technic tool.
Or don't if you don't have butterfingers! lol

I am actually wrapping wooden trim in CF 3M vinyl. So far, I did all the parts except doors and I am very happy by the outcome. Crappy phone pics do not give justice to my project, but in person it looks really good IMO. Here are the pics...
