I am in the process of getting all of my wood grain painted to match the exterior of the car. My question, however, is....how do you remover the wood grain from the interior door handles? I don't want to start muscling it and snap it in half.

You have to remove the door panel to remove the trim.

Do you have an LCI or pre-LCI?

Edit:

For pre-LCI:

Thanks Antti. I was searching your old threads to try and figure this out. I am not particularly fond of removing the door panels because of the Air Bag system.

On another note (sort of), what do you think the surround of the AC and the CD player will look like painted body color (leaving wood trim factory? The soft touch "paint?" is peeling and looks like crap, so I am looking for a way to rectify it.

I found that on the door handle trim strip that if you pry out on the top slightly and slip them upward out of their detents they will come off without removing the panels.

Are you talking about the trim strip on the door handles? If so, aren't they screwed in with a nut on the other side?

mels545 is right, the long trim on a door handle can be clipped off. They are not attached with screws. You just have to be very careful.
Sorry HiOffcr I didnt remember this. However, if you want to take the switch panels off, you need to remove the doorcard.

I'm getting new trim this week and I was wondering the same thing. I REALLY do not want to remove the panels on everything.
