Dealer told me the tint affects the fob distance...
If you dont have tint than I will deny ever having answered your question.

There is a neat trick you can try to increase range for the fob, hold the end of the fob against the skin on the side of your head (temple) it increases the range quite a lot. This is not a joke...it really works, don't ask me how !

The receiver for the opening is in the C pillar (so not affected by tints) . Mine went faulty and worked intermitently and was replaced.

You will need to switch keys every so often for the keys to charge.
Did you get metalized tint recetly? If so, that can hender the performance of the key fob.

My 2 key remotes working distance is getting less and less every day. Now, I have to stand next to the car that remote could lock/unlock the doors. Sometimes, I press the lock/unlock buttons many times, and doors would not lock/unlock. I use these keys everyday and the batteries inside should be charged. I drove the car about 100 miles each day.
What is the cause of the reduction of remote working distance ?
Thanks.

Okay, I had order a new diversity antenna from Newport BMW - $148 + $10 (shipping). According to the post in this thread, the connector of this antenna is on the driver side C-pillar. However, the member who did the replacement is from UK. So his driver side is equivalent to our passenger side in US. Where is this antenna connector located in US E60 ?
