recommended options?
I currently have a 2006 525xi with NAV, SAT radio, cold weather pacakage and premium package. I may be getting into a new 528 upon lease end. Does anyone have any opinions as to what options/upgrades are a "must". I'm going to get everything I had in the 525 plus the Ipod connection. I am on the fenceabout other options but am considering the active cruise control -is it worth the extra $2400? Are there any other options that anyone can suggest which tey have and cannot live without?
Cut down on the options and go for the 535. Just kidding (kinda). I can tell that yuo and I have different likes. You seem to go for more comfort and gadgets and I opt for more performance.
The active cruise may be worth it if you travel a lot, but if not I doubt it.
As far as I concerned, the only must haves are sports package and the best seats available. I can happily live without the other gizmos.

comfort seats - i vote 3 x for this.
also i like the logic 7, but nothing you can't live without.
xenon, heated seats (if u live in a cold area) is a must.
sports also something i would chose.
also the main question will u be buying the car or leasing again?
either way, you should be able to find nice leases with the f10 around the corner.
also, i would get the new i-drive cuz i think they have made huge improvements etc.

When searching around for mine I drove a lot of different variations and I found that I HAD to have the Sport Package. It handles better, and looks a lot better in my opinion. If I could go back I would also have made Logic 7 a priority. The stock system isn't horrible, but the Logic 7 sounded pretty darn good.

Sport and premium are good choices, perhaps an M-tech kit also (a bit cheaper than going with aftermarket, 2K on the bmwusa site, and you won't have to worry about taking it off when you return it)
Definitely the ipod 6fl is a great one to have also. Good luck with your upcoming purchase.

personally I can't see getting out of one car and into virtually the same car, even with updates. Unless you absolutely must have a car of this size, how about getting a 135i, or a 335i coupe? Why waste money on active cruise? if you live up north, it's not like you have a lot of roads with wide open stretches of highway..

get all the buzzers and whistles that you can, I love all the gadgets that is available.
Don't overlook the folding rear seats. I know your not going to be hauling 2x4s from Home Depot or anything, but that is one option I didn't know was an option and I really need it.
Good luck

Logic 7 is a must. The base stereo I had on my old 530xi was decent, but the one I experienced on my 535xi loaner was just horrible in comparison. The bass was just terrible...very distorted at all levels.
Sport package is an obvious must as well. I think these are the main 2, aside from what you already have...and aside from the optional twin-turbos.
As for comfort seats, I have them now and hate them. I think I am the only one, though. I am still messing with the settings after 3 months and cannot find a comfortable seating position. But, when I crank it up to 140 mph, I forget all about my back pain.
