Rear seat replacement?

Anything's possible....not easy though!
Great chunk of metal in the way for a start, and if it's anything like the E39, they actually used a different wiring loom!
Not worth the effort, borrow another car, or get roof rails!!

That's what I thought.. I use my car for everything, it's very very versatile. I have the roof bars and rear seat protector as well, the fold down seat would be icing on the cake. Oh well. Thanks :)

The E60 solid rear seat could be replaced with a 60/40 without cutting or re-wiring anything. You would need the seat itself, which is 5 sections, the 60, the 40, the left and right wedges, and the lower trim section. You also would need the release handles for the trunk, and the hardware to bolt in for the hinges. Definitely possible just not a practical modification due to cost. Now the E39 however is another story.
