The rear glass rubber is all wearing out with cracks and is falling apart... I got this car used and was 3 years old, but come on BMW a $70K and the rubber wears off? It supposedly happens on the hot climate states and BMW has no recalls or anything like that.. The only way to fix it is to replace the glass.. I will wait till i finish all the planed work but i can say its an eye sore..

Who else has the same issue? I'm sure it got be more people outthere.. Seen some other boards that people complained about it..

I thought those rubber is replaceable without removing the glass, not alone replacing the glass. There were some threads about it.

That's a very common problem. Here is one of many links to your options:

Good luck!

I had to replace my front and rear window rubber.

I was first told the glass had to come out on both and it would be very expensive.

I found a local glass shop that said they could do it with out removing glass.
It took them about 10 min. on each and cost me around $150 with rubber and labor.

My car looks exactly the same as the car on the pictures from the link BIM530I posted.. I guess for the dealer isn't worth just to replace the rubber.

I even got their quote for the work...

Thank you all for taking the time to respond!

Exact same story with my rear glass rubber. Dealer said it needs to remove the glass. But you can replace it without removing the glass. You have to really be careful if you DIY because a slight knock to the glass can crack the whole glass. Good luck

I've just got mine at my dealer for $43 front windshield and rear windshield. I plan on doing this tonight myself and will update some photo's of procedure hopefully. Here is what mine looks like as right now.

Yeah Cwest, please do. Luckily my windshield one is fine (had to have the whole thing replaced about 2 years ago), but my rear window rubber is crumbling. It'd be great if you could post a step by step DIY, I'd do it
