I am working with a dealer on a lease for a new 550i (from out of state, so its via email and phone calls) and the most recent offer from them mentions "fold down rear seats" as an option on the car they are trying to sell me.

Is this an option? If so, does anyone know its cost? I looked on the bmwusa website and didnt see it as such, but if its costing me money, i really dont want it.

Thanks........

This is an option. The MSRP is for the split folding seats is $475.00.

By the way, and this is just my opinion, this is a pretty good option for the price. It gives you a lot of flexibility in terms of trunk storage space and when they are up, you can't tell the difference from the standard seats.

I actually had to custom order because I couldn't find one that had it in my color options. This was a must have. What are you going to do when you have something that is just a few inches too long to squeeze in the trunk?

I have both, but I highly recommend the fold down rear seat.

I've enjoyed the fold-down seats on my last three 5-series cars -- it's a must-have for me (maybe because I don't have a truck?)

It's amazing how much stuff I can get into my car...
