Hey Guys,
New to the forums but not to BMW's or european cars in general. Just had a quick question, I am trying to roll the rear fenders on my new to me 530i 6MT. I noticed that the fenderliner is pretty solid above the rear fender lip and was wondering if there was any kind of material between the fenderliner itself and the body of the car. I tried searching but didnt come up with much, just want to make sure so when I roll the fender, I don't crush anything behind it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I wanted to know the same thing. Thanks for asking. Hopefully someone chimes in with a good answer.
From what I have seen and experienced, there is a rubbery material inside/behind the rear fender lip.
The fender roller is strong enough to roll the fender lip against the rubber material.
I've had a bunch of 5s, 3s and 7s used my roller to roll their cars w/ no issues.
You can apply rust coating over the "pinched" rubbery material after you roll to cover any cracked coating from the inside.

Does anyone have a pic of what this will look like? What are the advantages?

The advantage is that you have more clearance to run a more aggressive offset. I noticed that I get a little bit of rubbing with my setup. Rolling my fenders will eliminate that (depending on how aggressive your setup is).
