So yesterday my car finally showed the passanger restarint malfunction code so i thought nothing of it because i was just gone get it fixed under the recall..but later that night when i went to use my rear defrost button my radio became staticky all of a sudden but the day before i used it everything was fine so im guessing because my car finally showed the passanger code that its causing the defrost button to interfere with my radio for some reason..i hope the dealer can fix this..anyone have this problem with their car when they got the error message

There may be a problem with the antenna elements in the rear window or possibly something wrong with the diversity amplifier located above the rear window (behind the headliner.)

Search the forums for a bunch more info! ;)

If you do have tinting on the rear window, the tint itself may be causing the problem. Either the film itself is interfering with the antenna signals or an antenna element may have been damaged when the tint was installed...

My car had the same problem (as did my previous E39). Had to have the rear window replaced under warranty...

i had the tint for over a year without problems untill the passenger restreint warning came on so i hope its just that because my warrenty expired already and i dont want to pay for a new rear window..well see what happens when i go to open road on monday..thanks for the help
