I've installed several backup cameras before. I'd love to know if this ties into iDrive or if you need that external screen.

 

The add says will automatic come on the screen when in reverse for £20 do fancy trying one

 

don't think it will work unless you have installed an additional unit like the one that is being sold by Modmynav since you need video input from the idrive.

I think this is the part of the instruction that you will have problem with unless you can modify the idrive monitor to accept video input from external source.

 

it looks like you need an external lcd.

if it interfaced to the i-drive screen, i'd be interested.

 

another thing I always wonder is since you LCI guy can watch movies on your Idrive without any mod, then is it possible to tap into that video wire and add in external video feed without having to buy external unit as a medium.

 

may give it a dabble
