This past weekend while in Charleston and at a Hotel, I came out that morning to leave and noticed damage on my rear bumper. Looks like someone hit my car. Obviously, I don?t know for sure where it happened, but I assume in the parking lot at the Hotel since I didn?t noticed it the night before.
I once heard someone say you should never let a tragedy go to waste? So, with that thought, I decided to repaint the bumper. I had wanted to do this, but I just kept finding excuses. I had a few small defects in my rear bumper at the rear tail light corners from when I installed the bumper and should have removed the taillights for obvious reasons and then across the top A surface due to a suitcase scratching it. So, with the recent damage/impact to my bumper I decided to just go ahead and repaint it. I took a few pics to document what I did.
Initial damage. Paint flake off and several cracks.
Sanded and feathered out with 180g
One coat of adhesion promoter applied.
Primed twice with four coats.
A little black spray paint before sanding to help show any issues. Sanded with 400g and 500g.
Last sanding and ready for paint. Entire bumper was sanded using 600g and then used a scotch-brite.
Finished, next I will wet sand with 1500g and buff this weekend.
I'll put up the final result this weekend when i buff it.

From the Auto paint store. It's made by Limco. You have to mix it and then spray from a gun, finishing with a two stage clear. I used the high speed since it's still a little cool outside. This is the same stuff I used for my entire kit and roof.
