I have an early 2007 550 that did not come with RTT, which was added to later 07 models. If you don't have it, you don't miss it, right? Well my new 2007 4.5 X5 has this feature as well as other cool features that will most definitely be on my next BMW. Anyway, I want to see if I can get RTT added to my 550, I was told by one SA that it could be done as long as I don't have HD radio which I don't, I'm now using another BMW dealer for service(long story) and my SA said he wasn't so sure if this could be done.

Anybody with info? I'd appreciate some info on this topic.
Thanks as always.

I don't have much info on it, but after living with Houston's RTT, I would be disappointed with anything less, check it out during rush hour. Hopefully the BMW system would be this good:

Unless your build date was later than 9/06, I don't believe you can get it as of now.

Maybe there is some hope of a retrofited CCC in the future similar to cars that don't have bluetooth equpped telephone modules.

He meant RTTI, which is Real Time Traffic Information.

BMW NA has officially stated that they are not providing a retrofit.

It is however not impossible that one could add the receiver to your car. Just not officially sanctioned.
