Congratulations! I'm so jealous that you get to test out its high-speed abilities on the autobahn. I've rented 5-series sedans and wagons in Germany, but never the V-8 (I don't know whether any rental agency offers a 545 over there). Did you get the manual transmission?

And how come nobody likes the Mystic Blue? I think mine is awesome.

Not easy to find, but you can rent everything, even Ferraris or a H2.

Now that I have one at home, maybe I'll look harder and try to rent a "sibling" 545i over in Krautland one of these days.

Our car is a standard US Spec 545i with the orange side lights up front and the black plugs in the rear bumper. US Spec?s will allow us to bring the car back to the States someday.
why people in germany can get u.s. spec's cars but u.s. people can't get europe spec's cars ? it's so unfair !

A regular German customer can't get a US spec car!
Need to be an American and/or work for the military. Then you buy your car through a special dealership...

It is nice here in Germany to have that 90 mph to 130 mph kick the 545i brings to the table. Got the Steptronic and now that you bring it up... What I hate most about automatics is that they run away down hill if left in D. It seems like you're always on the breaks. I have never seen anything like this Steptronic, it's the damnedest thing, it actually holds its speed.
