over the weekend i got my car rear-ended and it left the rear bumper bar with scratches, paint peeling and cracking. i went to an approved bmw body repairer and they quoted $600 (aud) for the whole job. i then called bmw bodyshop which is factory owned and they quoted at least 1500. they said they'll have to disconnect and reconnect the sensors etc etc and this is why it costs so much. is this just plain bs or do they really need to disconnect and connect and adjust the sensors again? the approved body repairer is listed under bmw australia's website so i'd assume they'd know what they're doing.
