vishwen says that his car is EU spec.... all EU spec cars had RDS ever since.... it is a very basic system in Europe for almost 10 years already..... even the cheapest have RDS......
in another words RDS on EU E60 even with CIP 10
so there is some other problem but the CIP....

basicaly the radio station broadcasts text data for your radio display as well besides music
